lol Yes, that's what I meant  .

If Owen can stay fit, he will score goals. At first glance most people I think associate him most strongly with pacy runs on the break. In fact, every piece of footage I've seen so far on the sports and news channels fits that description, Owen using speed to create a scoring chance where none existed before his contribution. He's not necessarily able to do that now and because of that he's not scored so many goals. However, what he can do is score from scoring opportunities and at Manchester United he'll get more than at Newcastle United. The players around him can create the assist and all Michael Owen needs to do is get into a position from which to score. Useful player to have coming on in the second half.

I can't bare to watch him in the skysports news videos wearing a Liverpool shirt, it makes me feel sick!

I think as long as he stays fit then he will be a good signing, should have signed him on a pay as you play deal though because of his injuries.

Can't believe we are signing Newcastle rejects now!

'Alex told me over breakfast that he wanted to sign me, I agreed straight away' - Of course you did because your other options were Hull and Stoke!!

The Times seems to be suggesting it might be the racing connection:

injury prone.

I read a comment on another forum that Ferguson might as well have kept Louis Saha.

LOL. Quite a bit of biliousness all round! I've always maintained Owen is a very good striker and a model professional but my word, what a way to lose friends!

I don't think Owen will be the last new attacking signing which is why I'm slightly uncertain about the choice from Owen's own perspective. He wants to get back in the England squad and certainly partnering Rooney regularly at club level might be a good indicator of international potential, but what if he isn't picked? Berbatov is likely to be selected most of the time anyway, but if a player of the absolute top tier is signed like Ribery or Villa he might only see the odd outing against Hull or Stoke which is less likely to impress than playing for them.

Another striker might be on the way to Manchester United.
