Looking at the characters that have been axed/left for various reasons do you think there has been enough or would you like to see more characters getting the axe?

If so, who else would you axe and why?

He DEFINATELY needs to put his axe away, what with various departures e'g Kris, Jake, Loretta, Dom, Mal etc and the axings of Neville, Suzanne, Josh, Zac, Leo, Lauren Sasha, Spencer, Dave etc he needs some long standing characters to stay so at least there are some familiar faces in HO...I will give him credit for bringing Lee back but he should try and bring back some other old characters maybe a couple or a family and he should try and get O.B to occasionally return to the the villiage to see Steph, Tom and other friends. I for one do not want to tune into HO and see no familiar faces and all new characters(similar to Skins)because, like others,, it will cause me to lose interest especially with the seemingly vast amount of new faces being bought in, 3 families, Cheryl's brother and a new McQueen(!)(where do they all come from?)

It seems that if PM doesn''t like a character, he axes that character with no regard as to how the public percieve them, The Ashworths had a lot more mileage in them and Nev had a chance to be a Mr C type character but because Marquess didn't like the Ashworths he axed them(except Rhys, which is a good thing at least)

So I think Marquess should hold off any more axings, I hope I don't tune into Digital Spy and see ".... characters axed from Hollyoaks"

Hope he doesn't kill it like he did Family Affairs

I think the McQueens are like the Dingles in Emmerdale...always new characters cropping up and having some sort of relation to the family unit. However in saying that I would welcome another male McQueen JP and Niall were great but JP got his sunset ending and the other is dead so I think a male character would work well with them all at the moment.

I have never been a huge fan of the Ashworths (apart from Hannah) and I do agree with PM when he says that the dog had become all doom and gloom so it did need an injection of something. I am 50/50 on why they kept Rhys over Josh but I am guessing Hayley could be the reason. If you could have saved 1 Ashworth would it have been Rhys or someone else?

If these characters are Charlotte/India then I wouldn't be that upset personally. But if it was BIG characters of course I would be gutted, who would you have on the chopping block?

PM can't be blamed for the people who left of their own accord - it just so happened that just about everybody's contracts were up this year and they decided not to renew them...
Obviously there's gonna be more cast changes in the future (that's just the nature of soap), but I don't think there'll be any more huge amounts of people leaving at once...
The cast changes are what will get people watching again - old fans will tune in just to see departures of long serving characters like Steph, Kris, Zak, Jake etc and when they see what else is going on with the show it may convince them to start watching again...

Rhys is definitely the Ashworth I wanted to see stay - he's a great character to have the show and hopefully will start getting a lot of decent storylines...

I have always wanted Josh to stay for some reason but looking at it now I am glad Rhys stayed.
