They could of just Ste and James broke up and maybe James leave to try and find Romeo after his scare or left to go and live with Ellie/Alfie, but instead they forced a reunion between Ste and James just to kill off James, like James would just get over the fact Ste cheated and had intimate moments with someone else just like that and the fact Ste and James both signed the divorced papers seems to be forgotten about and fact James also chose to confide in Jeremy over Ste. one of the most forced/ridiculous pairings ever.

Are we thinking Rex blames himself for Ste being in a coma then? They hardly know each other to say it is love. I always thought sheer lust but with Ste all burnt no doubt some people would run a mile but seems he is sticking by his side.

I wouldn't say it's love, but I say maybe it's bit more than just lust, considering he said Ste was safe like that was his main concern and has protected Ste a few times. I do wonder if the case is his lonely and kind of clung onto Ste? as Misbah mentioned if he has any family/anyone he cares for. Ste kept saying Rex was a mistake etc to go back to his husband like and Ste's only shown a few scraps of caring about Rex which Rex seems willing to take/cling onto? and course got messed up view of love through being took under Dave's wing? plus the fact he could easily had Theresa or John Paul who were fawning over him and seems he will be by Ste's side a year while his in a coma but some of it could be guilt? maybe because he failed to stop the bombs going off and being involved with Blue.
I am guessing now Ste feelings for Rex will be awakened and maybe he will get to know Rex better and maybe Rex feelings become stronger as Ste almost died. I wonder if Rex might open up to Ste about his past? family? etc

What's annoying James and Ste marriage literally broke down. Both signed the divorce papers. Ste seemed to be happy enough without James tbh. So, I don't buy his speech his been so lonely and lost without him. The whole reunion was forced they could just left them broken up but they brushed under the carpet why their marriage broke down and forced a reunion by James thinking he might of had a brain tumour. But I guess it clearly done just to get rid of James. They could just had James leave the village after the scare/failed marriage and realising he had nothing left in the village anymore and maybe gone to find Romeo or stay with Alfie/Ellie. The whole reunion with Ste felt forced. James could even got back with JP but guess they got JP and Jez lined up so. James had to go.

Like RNC80 said James was sacrificed just like Amy to facilitate Saint Ste and that is wrong.
