A funny theory and wouldn't put it past Hollyoaks tbh, if Rex is the son of Brendan, Ste has mentioned him a lot recently, said how he liked working for Warren, seems his interest in James had waned and now finds himself drawn to Rex for reasons he probably does not know, could imagine if then revealed Rex is the son of Ste's ex Brendan.

They can change anything, Eileen is the only known female I think but they could write another one in easily enough. However I hope not, I would rather Rex be BB's prison BF lol.

I so confused so James see's Rex and Ste getting close and then goes missing?
Why Rex and Ste suddenly concerned for each other? when Rex was willing throw Ste a under bus and Ste could care less that Rex was out the way? and Rex was angry Ste did nothing to stop Warren?
