They seem to be getting longer to sing but is it worth the effort to source the backing tracks?

I actually preferred it when we saw more shorter auditions, but I think the backing tracks are useful for the contestants with the audition being more like the real shows?

You never get the judges opinions they just judge it on crowd reaction now.

Apart from the Mariah singer I think you're right. Especially when the crowd are enjoying the song rather than the singer!
