Leah is 15, still lives in the tiny council flat with Amy and Ste.

A long blonde haired Leah come out of her room in her school uniform, Amy is sat on the couch watching Tv and eating a bowl of cereal, Leah picks up her shoulder strapped school bag.

Leah: Where’s dad?
Amy: Work
Leah: I heard you arguing again last night,
Amy: sorry, you know what he’s like, slightest thing and boom he explodes.
Leah: Yeah well if you can’t get on anymore just stay out of his way.
Amy: it’s not as easy as that.
Leah: whatever, I’m off to school.

Leah leaves the flat as she walks past the ally and sees a passed out ste in the ally, she just looks for a few seconds and walks on to school.
At school Leah is by her locker, Charlie goes up to her and puts his arm around her.

Charlie: Babe you gotta cheer up.

Leah shrugs him off.

Leah: How can I cheer up when brother got killed 5 months ago and ever since my parents have been arguing all the time, Dads drinking is getting worse.
Charlie: I know babe. I got something to cheer you up.
Leah: What?
Charlie: Just meet me in the park at lunch.
Leah: kay (smiling)

Charlie kisses her on the cheek then walks off down the corridor.
That lunch time Leah goes to the park, Charlie has laid out a pic nic.

Leah: You shouldn’t have.
Charlie: All your favourite foods, Pasta salad, potato salad and for dessert chocolate cake.
Leah: woo.

Leah sits down and they eat the food. 20 minutes later they are lying down on the blanket and looking at the sky.

Leah: Have I ever said how wonderful you are?
Charlie: mmm…
Leah: I love you.

They kiss.
As they are kissing, Ste spots them and storms over to them.

Ste: OI GET YOUR SKANKY HANDS OFF MY DAUGHTER!!

Leah and Charlie quickly get to their feet.

Leah: Dad.

Ste grabs Charlie by the scruff of his chavy rain coat.
Ste: You ever go near her again and I swear you won’t beable to walk for weeks, You hear me?
Leah: DAD, LET GO OF HIM.

Leah pulls Ste’s arm from Charlie, and goes in front of him.

Leah: I love Charlie and Charlie loves me. Just deal with it yeah.
Ste: He’s a waste of life, you can do better.
Leah: No dad, you’re the waste of life, your pathetic just look at you, ever since Lucas died you just changed, You need to sort yourself out, I saw you this morning passed out in the ally having been on another bender whilst mum thinks your at work, just sort yourself out.

Leah and Charlie quickly pack up the picnic stuff and leave the park.

After school Leah gets in from school to find Ste and Amy aruging again, As she steps throught the front door she can hear them shouting so stays hidden behind the landing wall.

Ste: we're not telling her!
Amy: Ste she's my daughter and i'm not going to lie to her any longer.
Ste: Amy, don't bother, Amy come here.

Then Leah hears a big thump and Amy screaming.

Leah goes into the lounge to see Amy on the floor with a bleeding lip and ste stood next to her towering over.

Leah: Get away from my mum.
Ste: long was you there for?
Leah: GET OUT! GET OUT!

Ste slowly walks out the room and out of the flat.

Leah goes over to Amy sat on the floor.

Leah: You okay.
Amy: Yeah.
Leah: Why do you put up with him?
Amy: Coz I live him.
Leah: How can you love someone who hits you and just drinks all the time when you think he's at work.
Amy: What?
Leah: I found him this morning, he was passed out in the ally, then he was gunna thump Charlie in the park at lunch, I hate him, as far as i'm conserned he's not my dad.
Amy: He's not, But he was Lucas's dad, just not yours.

Leah stares at Amy for a few seconds then gets up and goes into her room.

That evening Leah is lying on her bed (on her stomach), Amy comes into her room.

Amy: You okay?
Leah: Yeah fine, why did you lie to me?
Amy: It was ste’s idea, I never wanted to go ahead with it, I hate lying to you, you know that, I love you I’d never hurt you.
Leah: yeah, well what’s done is done you can’t change the past but you can change the future that’s why I want to find my real dad.
Amy: are you sure?
Leah: yes.
Amy: well it’s getting late I’m off to bed see you tomorrow.

Amy kisses Leah on the forehead and leaves the room. Leah cries.
The next day at school, Leah is sat in her form room at lunch on her own. Beth (her friend) walks in the room.

Beth: Hey why you in here? it's boiling outside come and sit out with us?
Leah: No, I'm fine, I'm not really in the mood to be outside.
Beth: whats up?
Leah: Dad's not my dad?
Beth: What?
Leah: My dad....
Beth: Ste
Leah: Yeah...well it's turns out he's not really my dad.
Beth: Oh my god, I am so sorry, you okay?
Leah: Yeah fine, he's a pathetic drunk anyway.
Beth: Oh.

Leah is walking out of the school gates at lunch time with Charlie when Ste is waiting at the entrance.

Leah: Go away.
Ste: Leah, Just let me explain.
Leah: No, I've got nothing to do with you, now just get lost.
Ste: Leah Please.
Leah: I know your not my dad and the lies that you've told me growing up so just stay out of my life yeah.
Ste: What?
Leah: And stay out of mums too, now lucas is dead you've got nothing else to do with us.

Ste says nothing more and walks quicky away.

Charlie: Babe calm down. (putting his arm around her)
Leah: Oh shut up. (throwing his arm off her)

Charlie stops walking

Charlie: Leah.
Leah: I just want to be on my own. (walking away)
Charlie: Fine.

Leah goes to the park and is sitting on the bench just behind the childrens climbing frame, Charlie sits next to her.

Charlie: I found out my dad wasn't my dad too you know, it's hard at first but you get through it.
Leah: It's different, We're different.
Charlie: How is it different?
Leah: Because, Because..
Charlie: Because my dad, Jake, tried to kill me when i was a baby, because he was mental.
Leah: No, We are just diffrent okay.
Charlie: If we're so different why are we together, why are we doing this?
Leah: Because I love you.
Charlie: Well guess what i don't love you.

Great work

Leah runs off out of the park and back to the flat.
Amy is sat on the couch, Leah runs past and into her room.

Amy: Leah, whats up?
Leah: Go away.

Leah: grrr.

Leah picks up her chair from her dressing table and throws it across the room making it hit the door, then she lays on the floor crying.
The next morning Leah’s in her room trying on her clothes and it seems like everything is small for her.
She sits on her bed after throwing the last remaining top on the floor, she picks up a magazine on the floor and flicks through the skinny airbrushed models inside.
Amy walks in the room.

Amy: Have you seen the state of this room?
Leah: I’ll tidy it later.
Amy: I should hope so, I don’t clean and iron this stuff so you can throw it around your room.
Leah: It’s not my fault I can’t find anything to wear.
Amy: Leah, you got loads of clothes, you’ve got more clothes that H&M.
Leah: So they all make me look disgusting.
Amy: Don’t be silly.
Leah: Oh silly now is it going round looking like a fat ugly minger.
Amy: Oi whats brought all this on?

Amy sits down next to her on the bed.

Amy: You know we all feel unattractive sometimes and the funny thing is men don’t even notice what we’re wearing most of the time.
Leah: So.
Amy: So isn’t this what it’s all about trying to impress Charlie.
Leah: Mum not everything is about Charlie. I just hate my clothes alright.
Amy: Alright, well I’ve got the rest of the day off so lets nip into town and get you some new clothes.
Leah: I thought you didn’t have the money.
Amy: I don’t but I’ve got to make you happy haven’t I.

Amy kisses her on the cheek and walks out the room.


Later that day Leah and Amy get back from down and go into the kitchen with the bags.

Amy: Why did I let you talk me into buying that dress?
Leah: Mum, it looked great on you.
Amy: Now I’ve got to find somewhere to wear it to now.

Amy pulls 2 boxes of cakes out a bag and puts them on the side.

Leah: Why did you get all them for?
Amy: For a treat later.

Leah gets a top out of her bag, It’s a yellow t-shirt with a big fancy eagle on it and grindstones and holds it up to her.

Leah: What you think?
Amy: It’s lovely (whilst putting things into the fridge)
Leah: Lovely?
Amy: I still think you should of got the smaller size.
Leah: No that was to tight for me.
Amy: It fitted you fine.

Leah goes into her room and sorts out her clothes. Then she goes into the kitchen were Amy is sat on the table eating the cakes.

Leah: Finally sorted out my wardrobe.
Amy: Have you tidied your room tho?
Leah: Not yet.
Amy: Have a cake they’re lovely.

Leah looks at the box.

Leah: Have you seen how many grams of fat they contain.

Leah turns to the fridge and gets a bag of lettace salad out and looks at the packet.

Leah: Now these are what you need, you know they contain less calories than it does to eat them.
Amy: well I’m gunna be on my feet for the next 5 hours I’m sure I’ll burn it off.
Leah: I though you had the rest of the day off.
Amy: nope turns out I got to cover. So what you gunna be doing for the rest of the day?
Leah: What apart from tiding my room.
Amy: well what ever it is just don’t stand round here being miserable all day.
Leah: I’m not miserable. I’ve got plenty to keep me busy (looking at the cakes)
Amy: Yeah. Bye (kissing her on the head)
Leah: Bye.

As soon as Amy steps through the door Leah opens the fridge to put the cakes back but see’s all the other cakes in there, pulls them out and starts scoffing them.
10 minuets later Leah is in her room finishing off the remaining sweet stash. She runs to the toilet and makes herself sick.

Leah comes out the bath room to find Ste leaning against the wall.

Leah: How long you been there?
Ste: Long enough.
Leah: what you even doing here anyway? (getting a glass of water)
Ste: I still do live here you know.
Leah: yeah well if you don't hurry up and move out i will.
Ste: Leah just because i'm not your dad my blood it doesn't mean i still don't love you.
Leah: yeah you should of thought of that before you hit mum and before you lied to me.
Ste: Leah please just let me have another chance, Amy has forgivin me, she knows i'm sorry, please.
Leah: Fine.

Leah goes into her room.
half an hour later she comes out and goes into the lounge. Ste is on the couch watchin Tv.

Ste: Leah come here a minute.

Leah sits next to him.

Ste: Before i heard you being sick. you are okay?
Leah: Yeah i'm fine, why shouldn't i be?
Ste: It's just your aunty sarah's friend, did what you did and she got very ill...
Leah:...What you tryin to say?
Ste: I don't want you being like that, i want you to get help before it's too late.
Leah: For what?
Ste: you know what i mean, your not stupid leah, i want you to see a doctor about bulimia, i don't want you to get i'll like your aunty sarah's friend, i don't want to see you like that.
Leah: Okay. (starting to cry) Please don't tell mum.
Ste: Okay okay, i won't honey, i won't.

The next day Leah goes to the doctors and is givin advise on Bulimia and also is given anti-depresants.
later that day Leah is sat in the park when Charlie sits next to her.

Charlie: I'm sorry.
Leah: No, i'm sorry, i didn't mean what i said, i shouldn't have..
Charlie: Hey it's okay.
Leah: Forgive me
Charlie: yeah, friends. (nudging her arm)
Leah: Friends (giving a little giggle)

Wow Leah is quite the character, its weird trying to picture Ste old(older). Great work once again

It's one week until Leah's 16th birthday. Leah is at school sat on the bike shed wall with her best friends Chloe & Ella watching Charlie play football.

Chloe: It's your 16th next week isn't it?
Leah: Yep.
Ella: So gotta throw you a party.
Leah: Can't mum and dad said i'm having a family only party since Lucas's death n everything.
Ella: Oh.
Chloe: We can go park after tho right?
Leah: hmm i duno yet.


A week later it's Leah's 16th birthday. Leah is instructed to stay in her room until Ste and Amy call her through to the lounge. She is sat on her bed getting ready when they is a knock at the window, she goes over to it to see Chloe and Ella standing there with a bottle of Lambrini each.

Ella: C'mon party's at the park.
Leah: Sshh!
Chloe: Hurry up then.

Leah checks herself in the mirror, grabs her shoes and throws them out the window and climbs out.

Haha she had a better offer it seems.

The girls arrive at the park and get themselves a bench, a group of lads are sat on the bench to the right of them.
The lad with Blonde and a baby blue polo shirt on looks at Leah and smiles then whispers something to his mate.
Leah cracks open the bottle of Lambrini and shares it out in the plastic cups Ella brought in her bag.

Chloe: Hey boys, come join our party.

The boys looks over take glances at each other then move to their table.

Chloe: I'm Chloe, This is Leah it's her 16th today and this is Ella.
Boys: Ite

The Blonde boy who Leah thought looked a bit like Charlie sits down right next to Leah.
The other two boys sits either side of Ella. To her right is brunette haired boy is wearing a stripy black and white hoody and Jeans and the boy is ginger and is wearing Jeans and a red polo next t-shirt.

Blonde boy: Ite, I'm Cory.
Boy to Ella's right: I'm Jay and thats Danny (pointing to the boy on Ella's left)

The boys invite more people to the "party", they arrive and Leah is having a good time especally with Cory.
