Full DS Interview with BK
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s13/h ... asics.htmlHollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood has said that the soap needs to appeal to a "wider audience" again.
Kirkwood, who returned to Lime Pictures in April following a two-year stint in charge of EastEnders, is currently overseeing Hollyoaks as executive producer following series producer Emma Smithwick's decision to stand down.
Not yet read other peoples comments on the BK stuff and as you can see I am behind on most oaks things at the moment!
The highlights from DS's interview for me are...
I want to get back to basics and focus on family and friendships - the older and younger characters can sit alongside each other nicely.I love that line family & friendships is what hollyoaks is all about imo. Not teens having family that are not actually family...that was all rubbish lol.
The show's producer also confirmed that more characters will bow out in the coming weeks.
"We have a number of characters leaving in the next couple of months," he said. "Again, some of them are at the end of the characters' natural life and some actors want to spread their wings. It's sad to see old favourites go, but on a show like Hollyoaks we're always looking for the next stars."I like the fact they are getting rid the cast is still too big but they need to get castings spot on when looking for the next stars. Having characters look the right age is important.
