Well, if this isn't a big finger up at those who criticise Hollyoaks' actors for lacking "real talent" (James Corden, ahem) we don't know what is. Last night heatworld had the pleasure of heading to the Shakespeare Globe Theatre in London to catch ex-Oaks actor Gerard McCarthy star in an actual Shakespeare play - and he talked in verse, wore traditional clobber and even sung a love song with a co-star! Gerard, who played moody-yet-lovable Kris in Hollyoaks, takes on the role as Fenton in laugh-out-loud play The Merry Wives Of Windsor - and along with doing the old Shakespearean spiele, he's also had to grow his hair and a beard! Frankly, we loved every minute - the cast were ace and Gerard looked pretty dashing in his costume, too. We totally recommend Merry Wives to you culture-loving heatworld folk!
