Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn has revealed that she is keen to land a stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress, best known for her role as Mandy Richardson on the teen soap, confirmed that BBC One's ballroom show is one of the few reality contests she would want to compete in.

Asked whether she would follow in the footsteps of former co-stars Gary Lucy and Chris Fountain by signing up for Dancing On Ice, Dunn replied: "No, I don't want to break myself!"

However, she added: "But I'd love to do Strictly Come Dancing. I used to ballroom dance years ago when I was little and I'd watch Come Dancing.

"You get asked to do so many reality shows, it's ridiculous. Money-wise it would be so easy to say yes."

Dunn is currently appearing in a touring production of When Harry Met Sally alongside ex-Coronation Street actor Rupert Hill.
