Hollyoaks star Gerard McCarthy has revealed that he would love to compete on Strictly Come Dancing. The 29-year-old, best known for his soap role as cross-dresser Kris Fisher, joked that taking part in the BBC ballroom show would be an ideal way to find love. Speaking to Bang Showbiz, McCarthy commented: "Now that I'm looking for a girlfriend I'm going to appear on Strictly Come Dancing. That seems to be the way for everyone to find a partner these days! "I would definitely go on Strictly, because I'm a massive fan of the show. It would have been more difficult for me to go on it when Arlene Phillips was there, because she's a really good friend of mine." A number of Strictly stars have begun relationships after being paired up for the programme, including Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna in last year's series.
