I agree. With David James out for the upcoming qualifiers against unfancied opposition, there's a chance for all of the others to play and with luck we can still score enough goals to win if it goes a bit off course at the back

Of the main candidates (Robert Green, David James, Paul Robinson, Ben Foster and Scott Carson) I still think James is best, but where's the cover? Spain have two undoubted world-class players in Casillas and Reina, but England don't have the strength in the goalkeeping department and I think it's our biggest weakness. |

I don't think any of them have made their stamp after James. They all should have a shot at it. |

What I've seen of Ben Foster is impressive, he's likely to be first choice for Manchester United at some point, but it concerns me that at the moment he's not featuring regularly at first team level: do you think he could maintain the required standard playing either reserve team football or on loan to the lower leagues? |
