Post subject:  Cold hands and Feet..Ahh!

I'm currently wearing thick socks, knee high (my school ones too) and huge chunky boot slippers. I also have a 'pink fleece throw' covering them...I can still feel my feet being drained, as if they're in a bucket of ice!
The heating's on in the house, as for my hands...I shouldn't even start!

Enough was enough for me today...In English my teacher would not close the door (door reaches straight outside by the way) and my hand went SO numb, I could barely write! So I wrote really small, which she hates, but I like, then I just got so angry that I just scribbled all over it saying 'PLEASE CLOSE THE DOOR'.

Share some of your cold stories, so i'm not just the only one who's got ice-sculpted hands and feet

I have worn two pairs of socks on really cold days and wrapped up in so many layers only my eyes were visable. You can buy them little gel things which you can warm up before you go out but they don't last that long! If your cold now...goodness knows what you will be come Dec

I use to hate when it was snowing and they would tell you to take your coats off! Of course the teacher would be sitting right infront of the radiator! :curse:

When I first started astronomy I hadn't made proper provision for the cold and you don't really notice it if you're engrossed in something. When I realised that not only could I not turn the focuser but I couldn't really make either hand do anthing at all I retreated inside to discover that I could then strike either hand against the wall with real force and not feel a thing. I recovered without frostbite through sheer luck. Not recommended.
