I tend to think of the young 6th form kids as a 'disease'

First it started on Hollyoaks Later

Then came to the new set of Hollyoaks College

Then Hollyoaks park

Then Hollyoaks coffee shop

Now Chey Chez!!


Where to next? Dog in the pond? Mercedes bedroom?

Has anyone used "twitter" to tell Emma Smithwick just terrible characters and actors they are!?

The characters Neil and Maddie have worked with ES before so I guess she really likes them two. I think they are just overused and when they are on screen for weeks at a time it becomes boring. Who do you find the worst out of them all? and if you had to watch one of them who would it be? or would you rather watch paint dry?

Does anyone seriously dress like that?

I'm the same age as Sinead and I've NEVER seen any girl our age dress like that! Teen girls always go for casual jeans, tshirt, cardigan/hoodie, converse/boots, that kind of stuff.

I try to not watch the teen scenes. I normally try turn over unless it involves other characters I like.


If I had to put up with one of them then most likely it would be Neil. He's not too bad.


I was hoping with Emma Smithwick coming in Hollyoaks would get better, but she's doing a worse job than the last guy.


If I wanted to see some sh*t acting by teens playing kids I'll go watch Skins thank you.

I've never minded the teens before.

I always enjoyed the likes of Justin, Hannah, Ali etc when they were at school. Mainly because they could act and had presence on the screen.

Also had a lot of love and a crush on Nicole Owen!

The young Ashworths at the time were also entertaining. Same as the Barnes family, though Sarah was ok I was not totally into her character.

2005 seemed to be the year in which I mostly enjoyed the young characters. They could actually act!



The problem is with these ones is they cannot simply act. Jonno is no doubt the worse actor out of all of them and you would think he has a stutter, possibly even sounds like he makes the lines up as he goes along. If you cannot act you should not be on TV at that is the problem.

The Maddie scene in which she was upset over the 'pressuring of sex' with Calum got real knock backs as she was just there sniffing with no tears or no emotion. Even I could do that!


All in all it was a terrible mistake bringing them into the soap, and they should be axed as soon as possible.

Hasn't DJ got a lisp? It is an odd one because on twitter the younger fans love him therefore looking from that view he is a popular character yet on the forums (mainly ds) he isn't.

I think Maddie is capable of doing emotional and hope that will be something she can work on because in general I like her character. Yes she is a bitch but someone has to be. For me Carmel cannot do crying scenes and equally shows no tears. Hopefully at some point we can see the other side of Maddie and she can do the scene well.

For me the main thing that went wrong with the teens was introducing them all at the same time. I would have liked to have seem them come in 1 by 1 or in pairs. I think this is the most teens we have ever had aswell at 1 time so there is teen overload.

I also think looking at how the Kane family arrived they should have done that with atleast one of the teens and created a family around them. There are too many with no backstory and that makes them pointless. We have read that Maddie is the middle child and that is partly why she is the way she is but we have never seen that picture onscreen or had any of them mentioned.

When George first arrived I disliked his character so much but since he has done that Pheoebe SL he has improved loads and I am now looking forward to seeing the spoilers on him. I think each teen just needs a storyline that they can command.
