The pretty, young student arrived in Hollyoaks in 2009 as a new student at the college. India moves into the student halls with Josh Ashworth, Dave Colburn, Charlotte Lau and Hayley Ramsey, she doesn't make the best of first impressions upsetting Hayley and making insensitive comments about Charlotte's sexual orientation the girls label India as "stuck up" which upsets her. Hayley also decides to put laxitives in India's pizza, which India subsequentially eats and during a competition set up by Neville Ashworth to win a car India wins the car as the laxitives take effect and the other three leap out in horror. India decides to leave college but makes up with Hayley first.
In October India returns telling her friends that her parents convinced her to face her bullies and continue on at Hollyoaks college. she grows close to Josh but ends up kissing Calvin Valentine and then at a party she kisses Josh. they kiss again at a party and decide to go to another, Josh decides to drive and drinks soft drinks unaware brother, Rhys Ashworth has spiked them with Vodka, Josh crashes the car and India is injured...she and Rhys become close and embark on a short relationship but it ends when Rhys realises his family needs him
In May India celebrates her 20th birthday at a mansion with a murder mystery game, however, everything but the game goes on including Charlotte sleeping with the female host and india's sister, Texas arriving
India, Texas and Dave arrive back in Hollyoaks in the aftermath of Calvin's death at his wedding to Carmel McQueen, his death shocks India as she had never seen a dead body
India gets a job at Cindy Hutchinson's boutique. Texas returns and her grandfather, Alastair arrives in town too. Whilst eating a meal Alastair chokes and is saved by Cindy to India and Texas's horror Cindy and Alastair date and end up getting married, Cindy moves away leaving India with two new bosses in Heidi Costello and Gabby Sharpe. India does try to please her two different bosses differing styles but ultimately pleases neither.
India's friends begin online dating and cautious India writes down safety tips about being safe on the internet and whilst dating online, seeing Texas rack up man after man and decides to try it herself. Eventually she meets a good looking man apparantly named Cameron. India arranges to meet him in The Dog but "Cameron" texts her saying can they meet outside. On her way to meet him India comes across Silas, a seemingly nice old man who is having car touble, India lets Silas use her mobile to call for assistance afterwards Silas calls her India, India suddenly realise Silas is "Cameron" as she tries to run Silas grabs her and after a brief struggle he murders her. He steals her ring, wraps her body in a roll of carpet and dumps her in the woods where she is found by Jack Osborne and Duncan Button on Christmas Eve 2010
A while later Texas films a reconstruction of India's last steps, and as Silas watches he sees India through Texas
