Neville Ashworth arrived in Hollyoaks with his family, wife, Suzanne and children Rhys and Hannah in 2005, a local business man but seen as a bit of a "square" and "uncool" especially to his kids and is often the butt of their jokes. In 2007 Nev discovers Suzanne slpet with his brother, Noel and the product of that one night stand was Rhys, Neville struggles to accept the fact that he is actually Rhys's uncle and not his father, Rhys is dismayed and tells Neville he wants nothing to do with him and moves in with Noel, Noel later leaves town and Rhys and Neville make up and Rhys tells him although he is not his biological father he will still be his father in Rhys's eyes and the man that brought him up. Noel dies and and Neville arranges his funeral and wake despite his brother sleeping with his wife.
In September 2007 it is discovered Hannah has an eating disorder when she returns from hospital Nev is none too pleased to discover she'd seeing Danny Valentineand claims while she is recovering from her eating disorder Danny should stay away, he later accepts Danny and Hannah's relationship. In 2008 more trauma hits the Ashworths as it is revealed that Rhys is in a relationship with half sister, Beth although the siblings didn't know they were related at first once they knew they stilll carried on the affair, Neville was disgusted and threw Rhys and Beth oit of the house, however further tragedy befalls the family when Beth is killed in a car crash.
In September 2008 Neville buys The Dog In The Pond he plans a fe-fit and tries to re-name the pub the Jolly Roger, however, he changes it back when it turns into a gay bar, in 2009 Neville and the family assume Hannah has had a relapse after finding hidden food, in actuality it was planted there by Ash Roy as revenge for Hannah dumping him, Hannah decides she cannot live with Neville and Suzanne as she can't trust them
In 2010 Josh crashes a car which injures India Longford, Rhys had spiked Josh's drink but that is un beknownst to the family, Neville disowns Josh and when Josh turns up at Suzanne's birthday party he punches Neville prompting Nev to report Josh to the police resulting in his son being arrested and sent to prison for his role in the car crash, as the familt disintergrates Suzanne starts an affair with Darren Neville is told by Rhys and he throws Suzanne out
Josh returns from prison prompting Neville to reconcile with his wife but decides the family needs a new start, he tells Josh since he has caused so much trouble he must stay behind prompting a guilty Rhys to confess it was he, not Josh, who spiked the drink, Neville is furious with Rhys and Nev then makes up with Josh and tells Rhys HE must stay behind and help to sell The Dog. As Neville drives off he stops the van, gets out and hugs Rhys, forgiving him.Neville and the Ashworths then drive out of Hollyoaks
What did you think of good 'ol Nev's character? What did you think of the Ashworths exit? They were casualties of Marquess, another great family axed

WOW...thanks for the great pics
Lol, love the Jolly Roger photo....Nev looking delighted Hannah and Rhys looking horrified
You made a good point with Nev, he was a great character.....a little similar to the legendary Mr C if it wasn't for Marquess Nev could of racked up a few more years in Oaks or possibly still be there...can you imagine his potential clashes with Jacqui? Apart from Suzanne sleeping with Noel then Darren, Nev never had a major SL but was always involved in his kids problems e'g Hannah's eating disorder, Rhys/Beth relationship. He was one of the best HO adults in the show's history in my opinion and I wish he(and Suzanne) were still in the show

They ruined Suzanne making her preg with Darrens twins, one of them SL's there is no going back on. Would like to see Josh return at some point as a baddie after yet another period banged up.
Thinking about Nev is making me think of the huge empty hole we have at the moment, not many two parent families that get along or are onscreen apart from young parents Amy/Ste. The rest are all from broken homes.

Nev and Suzanne had a great family unit and had good chemistry, like you say there are no two parent families any more. Why Marquess brought Suzanne back pregnant with Darren's twins is questionable, did he just want to stomp the Ashworth character's names into the mud even more?!!
Love your Josh idea, kinda like Sam Owen, a good guy but just tipped over the edge...maybe bitter over his parents splitting up, his mum having Darren's babies and maybe a spell inside for GTA or GBH/ABH returns to HO instantly promising to make Darren pay and having altercations with Rhys

Yeah I would imagine he would still be angry at Rhys to for not speaking up sooner so would be good to see him and Rhys at war aswell. He would still know plenty of characters aswell and I think the actor would be good playing a baddie. Has the actor done much since leaving?

Wasn't he in Doctors? Sure he has been in a few things Would be soooo interesting seeing Josh as a bad guy, if he got rid of his stupid haircut, shaved his head and maybe had some stubble he could pull off the bed guy quite well, HO needs a good bad guy, plus, loads of character's still there that he'd know, maybe get an appearance from Neville who comes looking for him ahh well, we can wish
