Sam was a strange one, a bit like Dan when he first came in meek and kept himself to himself and left the show fire wielding maniac, do you think Andy made him into that or do you think Sophie turning him into the police did it? Should Sophie of turned him in or stayed loyal to him.........what did you think of his character?

Initially he came into oaks looking guilty for starting the fire at his GFs house and killing her brother so I think the ending rather suited him as he came full circle. Everyone turned against him in the village so he was always an outsider. Things only got worse when he met Andy, even though he didn't go through with it with Sophie. I think Sophie tricking him made him want revenge. His family disowned him so he felt like he had nothing to loose.

Wasn't it proved that Sam didn't start the fire and it was the dad that didi it? Or am I wrong? Agree with you about Sam coming full circle with the fire aspect, man, he look psycho in that 1st pic not like the mild mannered Sam who had a crush on Zara when he 1st arrived

You wouldn't of recognised him when he first came in to HO in 2004, he was quiet, kind and all round nice guy, I think ultimately Andy made Sam into the guy you see in Hollyoaks Fans 1st pic, I think he was so betrayed by Sophie also that it just tipped him over the edge...a complex character and a character that underwent a complete evoloution during his time on the show. Sam's personality change shocked and intrigued me as it was so shocking-from the ultimate good guy to the petrol can weilding maniac...a 100% character change-but in a good way, not how they changed Calvin and Des for example

Yeah I think it was the girls dad doing an insurance job he didn't approve of Sam.

Plus Sam went under the name Liam when he first arrived which I think was his middle name.

Lol that pic of Sam really epitomizes what he was like when he first came in it...I remember he was touted down as a "Luke Morgan replacement" but, as good a character as Luke was, Sam was different as he was less confident and quiter than Luke and ended up a completely different character. Back then HO didn't try and re-create characters like they do now, like Ash is a copy of Zoe...George is a copy of Nick O Connor....Annalise is a copy of Jess....etc etc

God I forgot all about Nicole!


Never liked Sam, you always knew he had a darker side to him. Though Sophie did not help his cause.

I liked Sam, I thought his character evolving was told very well in his SL's....I think he was a victim of circumstance though, Andy led him astray and led him way out of Sam's league with the rape storyline and then the one person Sam thought he could trust(Sophie) betrayed him and tricked him into going to the police.....no wonder he was deranged when he returned in 2006

i was flicking through channels trying to find something to watch and just left it on the hollyoaks omnibous, i couldnt take my eyes off it the whole time was really gripped, then i just had to watch to see the aftermath and the rest is history
