I'm not really a guitar player fan, but a fan of the instrument itself after playing it for over 5 years whilst at school. Personally i own a non-amplified acoustic and a sunburst Fender strat. I've always loved the look of a Les Paul but they're really heavy instruments for my dainty frame

Great stuff. I've an acoustic which is slightly battle-damaged, a black Fender Strat, a sunburst copy and a Les Paul copy which sounds a lot like a Gretsch, along with a Vox modelling amplifier that boasts 18 amp models and sounds very little like any of them. Style-wise Clapton, Knopfler, Green, Gilmour and the like as well as earlier rock and roll and rockabilly players. How old is your strat Hev456?

My strat guitar is about 6-7 years i think, haven't played it for AGES though! I love playing more country/soft rock type stuff, I love The Eagles, they have an instrumental on their Long Road Out of Eden which is just amazing (and also my ringtone!).

I like country rock and ballads too, especially some of the playing on Emmylou Harris' albums, and although I'm not familiar with the tune you mention I'll check it out: a lot of The Eagles' stuff is really superb, melodic playing at its very best. I do listen to and play more electric-based country and one day will learn to play pedal steel. My strat is of a similar age to yours, though it's only the Mexican variety.
